Lika Krylaeva
Joining us in The Green Room is the lovely Lika Krylaeva- thank you so much for taking the time to be with us!
Right now the world is a very different place than it was a few months ago- you have kept yourself very busy in lockdown with multiple projects on the go. What can you tell us about your projects ‘Quarantine’?
You know, during the quarantine, I was able to immerse myself completely and completely in creativity, I shot 3 projects, one of them I shot an international series called Quarantine.
During the filming, not one artist left his own house, we did not use the services of a make-up artist, an artist, it was only me, as the author of the idea, the director, the director, there was Boris Kostomarov, the photography director, with whom we filmed our project the day before the onset of quarantine drama Chest, also Anna Luxurious, whom I called and offered to plunge into the world of this madness, from the fifth episode the scriptwriter Marcel Macedon was reunited and he already wrote dialogues for us. Casting for the role was in the zoom conference, and we filmed the same through the zoom.
Actors from different countries took part in the project, my goal was to unite and not let me go crazy .. Therefore, during this time we turned into a big family.
So you used the very popular Zoom app to connect with people from all around the world- was this touch to organise with different time zones and technically?
We used exclusively the recording of the conference zoom screen, during this time the schedule got completely out of order and still I can not restore normal sleep.
Los Angeles and I are in different time zones, rather than Italy, so that to write artists from the states, namely our beautiful Anna Oris, we waited for His Mikitis until 23.00 and sometimes even later, but with Italy we have a 2 hour difference from where our favorite artist Pavel Zilinsky is one of the main characters.
The most difficult thing was to gather everyone for the final series – about 30 people and all from different countries. But we did it.
What was the reason behind creating this project? Simply to make people laugh through the tough times?
I really wanted to support all the artists who were interested, someone said, you know, this is not my format, someone said yes that you are so interesting, I agree .. And we did it.
The goal was to make the world smile under all circumstances.
You work as a Producer, Director, Screenwriter & Casting Director- what would you say is your favourite role and why?
I love creativity, everything, I consider myself a happy person because my work is my hobby.
Most of all I love to shoot, as a director, of course, this is the most important thing for me, I love cinema, and I love actors.
When you were growing up when did you first realise you wanted to get involved in the world of film?
You know, I have been creative since childhood, but as a director, I realized that I had chosen my profession at the age of 25, because until the age of 25 I thought I would be an actress, but in general, from the age of 11 I have been singing and participating in various creative competitions, I graduated from the theater university in Siberia came to the capital of Russia Moscow, and continued this not easy but such a fascinating path.
Do you think it is tougher for female creatives across the world to be recognised for their work?
You know, yes, it’s hard to please everyone, you need to try to find your audience, and your voice in directing, and even if you don’t have enough PR, you may simply not be noticed. But depending on what goal the Director pursues, if he wants to be popular in this, you just need to admit to yourself and go towards this goal.
If you could cast any Hollywood actor/actress in one of your films who would it be and why?
Oh, I have a dream, I love negative characters, I would really like to work with three people.
Endrio Scott is a terrific villain, a terrific nutcase, I love them.
Matthew McConaughey is stylish, overbearing, with a killer look, limited in any role, and sexy.
I tried to replicate James McAvoy in one of my educational works, he plays in such a way that you can experience all the emotions at once, and it’s cool.
And if we take actresses, I would like to work with Margot Robbie because beauty, grace, style, correct presentation, the dissimilarity of images is very important, I think that she deserves an Oscar for her acting.
I love beautiful actors and actresses))))
I am a connoisseur of beauty, I am an esthete.
I know you have lots of ideas and projects you are working on- what can you tell us about ‘Fatal Legacy’ I understand this is set for a release soon?
Yes, I am working on a project with the working title “Fatal Legacy” but recently it changed its name to Garda, this is called an attack on the queen in chess.
This is a project about reincarnation, time shifting and revenge that does not benefit anyone.
The premise of my film says
If you have forgotten what you have done in the past, it is not a fact that you are not remembered.
I would also like that thanks to my film, people would understand that revenge does not bring good, that evil generates only evil, evil must be answered with good, always!
Evil simply cannot cope with good, just like good with evil, it is an eternal struggle…
It is an eternal act of creation.
Lika, thanks so much for your time and we are so excited to see more of your work in the future. Take care for now. You are free to leave The Green Room.
Thank you very much for your interest in my work, I wish you endless inspiration, and unconditional love, positive, and of course health Take care of yourself we’ll meet at festivals, on screens. Bye bye… 😘
